Georgia Tax Free Weekend 2016 is going on right now, and so is the Tennessee Tax Free Weekend and the Mississippi Tax Free Weekend 2016.
Georgia’s Tax Free Weekend started today. Tennessee and Mississippi’s yearly Tax Free Savings Events started yesterday. Today is the last day to enjoy Mississippi’s Tax Free Savings.

MS Tax Free Items:
The exemption applies to many articles of clothing and footwear costing less than $100 per item (or pair), including but not limited to:
- Baby clothes
- Gym suits and school uniforms
- Hosiery
- Nightgowns and nightshirts
- Veils
- Work clothes and uniforms
MS Non-Tax Free Items:
Single items or items sold as a unit with a sales price of $100 or more are not eligible for the exemption. In addition, the exemption does not apply to rentals of clothing or footwear. Other non-exempt items include:
Baseball cleats
Graduation caps and gowns
Hair accessories
Sports helmets and pads
Wallets, watches and watch bands
Tennessee Tax Free Weekend 2016 (full details here.):
- Clothing – $100 or less.
- School Supplies < $100.
- Computers < $1,500.
Georgia Tax Free Weekend 2016 (full details here.):
Clothing and Footwear < $100: Clothing and footwear, no sales tax unless item is over $100.
Computers and Computer related items < $1000: Computers, computer components, and prewritten computer software purchased for noncommercial home or personal use with a price $1,000 or less.
School supplies > $20: School supplies, school art supplies, school computer supplies, and school instructional materials purchased for noncommercial use costing $20 or less.
