Arkansas Sales Tax Holiday might not be happening anymore after this year.

KARK news has reported that Arkansans could soon see their beloved Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday vanish and be replaced by possibly an Arkansas sales tax credit. See the details on the Arkansas Sales Tax Holiday going away below.

The Arkansas Tax Reform and Relief Task Force has decided to review the Arkansas Sales Tax Holiday for Back-to-School shopping. This legislature was passed in 2011 originally.

The Arkansas Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday reported costs 1.8 million dollars a year and the current numbers for business generated were not available, but the Arkansas Department of Finance thinks that the holiday costs more than it generates.

There are many options currently on the table, but the latest one is an Arkansas Sales Tax Credit instead of a Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday.
