North Carolina Tax Free Weekend 2017 might be happening per new bill
North Carolina Tax Free Weekend might be returning for 2017 back to school shoppers.
The North Carolina Senate have just sponsored Senate Bill 147. This bill could bring back North Carolina Tax Free Weekend 2017 and years beyond. The previous NC Sales Tax Holiday ended four years due to tax reform measures.
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The weekend designed to help ease the costs of buying school supplies may be returning to North Carolina. A bill has been proposed in the senate to bring back a tax free weekend to the state.
Senate Bill 147 will bring back the tax free holiday.
It ended four years ago as part of a tax reform measure signed into law by former Governor Pat McCrory.

The North Carolina Retail Merchants Association says the sales tax holiday was the second most profitable weekend of the year behind Black Friday.
