The GA Tax Free Weekend legislature didn’t pass, at least not in time for this year’s back to school shopping. Contact your senator if this issue is something you would like to be resolved.
The savings that GA typically get are around 8% on back to school items such as clothing, school supplies and some electronic equipment such as personal computers, up to various limits.
The only option for those trying to get tax-free savings is to visit Alabama during their annual tax-free weekend July 21-23rd. Just make sure that you compare the cost of the drive versus the potential 8% savings.
